Training Contracts
With offices across Lincolnshire, including Lincoln, Grimsby and Hull, we have a flexible approach to training contracts.
Training Contracts at Bridge McFarland
Our approach to training contracts is incredibly flexible. Unlike many of our competitors, we do not have one single annual intake of trainees, with applicants selected sometimes two years before their start date. We are always alive to opportunities, and training contracts are often awarded throughout the year.
Prior to the award of a training contract, we do generally like to assess prospective candidates during a paid work placement (normally around 4 weeks in duration) as our experience is that interviews are not the best way to judge a candidate’s ability or the manner in which they apply themselves to tasks. We find that we can more fairly assess candidates in a workplace setting.
The introduction of the SQE has opened up a new route to qualification, and we work with applicants (both external and internal) to agree on the best way forward (both in terms of timing and funding, as we are very much aware of the financial burden that many students now carry).
