Sean is a Solicitor within the Risk and Compliance Department of the firm, and is based in our Lincoln office.
Sean obtained his degree in Law from the University of Hull before completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York. He qualified as a solicitor in 2000, having initially specialised in IT & commercial law during his solicitor training, before branching out into industrial disease and general personal injury work in the early part of his career. He then became Head of Litigation at a firm in North East Lincolnshire, further developing his areas of practice to include employment law, neighbour disputes, and debt recovery.
Sean subsequently joined what was to become one of Yorkshire’s largest litigation firms, where he became responsible for all aspects of their risk and compliance, as well as assisting with practice management. It was in his role as Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) for this firm that he was nominated for Compliance Officer of the year at the Modern Law Awards.
More recently, Sean has worked as COLP with another firm in Yorkshire, and GDPR Officer for a national charity. He joined Bridge McFarland in July 2024.
Sean’s years of experience both as a litigator, as a COLP, and helping to run legal practice is invaluable to his position in the Risk and Compliance team.
Our Risk and Compliance Department are responsible for ensuring that this firm complies with our Regulatory duties and maintains the high standard of service which we provide to our clients. The team also work closely with all of our staff, across all of our departments.
In his spare time Sean enjoys reading, and volunteering for a Lincoln-based charity.
